Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) invites you to a screening of the award-winning documentary For Sama, a powerful first-hand account of delivering health care in Aleppo while under siege by the Syrian and Russian governments. For Sama is both an intimate and epic journey into a woman’s experience of war.
The screening will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with the film’s protagonists, Dr. Hamza al-Kateab and Waad al-Kateab, joined by co-director Edward Watts. PHR’s Susannah Sirkin will provide expert commentary on the scale and scope of attacks on health care facilities and personnel during the eight-year Syrian conflict.
Film in Arabic and English with English subtitles. Interpretation in German available for discussion and Q&A. The "For Sama" directors will appear via video link.
