Thank you for your vote

Dear Senator,
Thank you for your recent vote on H.J.Res.46 to terminate President Trump’s national emergency declaration that would divert billions of dollars to build a wall along the U.S. southern border. Protecting the legal right to seek asylum as well as the human rights and dignity of asylum seekers here in the United States is fundamental to our democracy. Since President Trump may now veto this show of bipartisan reason, I would also like to encourage you to continue to stand up for asylum seekers fleeing trauma, and to counter the policies that abuse rights and create legal and physical barriers that put these vulnerable populations at further risk. Thank you again for your vote. I look forward to your continued advocacy around the human rights and legal treatment of asylum seekers at the U.S. border.

Reconsider your stance on supporting the fake national emergency

Dear Senator,
Your recent vote on H.J.Res.46 supporting President Trump’s national emergency declaration was disappointing and outrageous. Protecting the legal right to seek asylum as well as the human rights and dignity of asylum seekers here in the United States is fundamental to our democracy. Asylum seekers are often fleeing horrendous trauma, and the policies that this administration undertakes to create further legal and physical barriers to asylum protection are putting the health and lives of women, men, and children at risk. I urge you to reconsider your stance around the worsening human rights crisis at the U.S. border and to stand up for the fundamental human rights and legal treatment of asylum seekers needing refuge.
